A high-profile six-year-long criminal case against the former mayor of Ryazan, Fyodor Provotorov, was quietly closed after the statute of limitations had expired. The official managed to avoid responsibility for the death of two teenagers, whom he, according to the investigation, knocked down while driving his Mercedes in the oncoming lane. However, in Ryazan itself, such a final did not surprise anyone. Provotorov has just become chairman of the Kasimov City Duma.

The new chairman of the Kasimov City Duma does not appear at the workplace often. But he controls the situation in the city, even being tens of kilometers away. The authority of Fyodor Ivanovich Provotorov has always been at its best here. And it is no coincidence that the former mayor of Ryazan, a well-known politician and businessman, in Kasimov, decided to continue his career, which was almost interrupted by a six-year-long investigation of a criminal case, which is now officially closed.

"Humanly, of course, as a person who committed a crime, he should have been held accountable in accordance with the law. Vyacheslav Ermolov failed to implement these plans to the end. Some of the bandits ended up behind bars. Others, including Yermolov himself, went on the run. But someone still managed to cling to power. Fyodor Provotorov, who, according to some information, was involved in economic issues in the group, in 2004 for the first time headed the administration of the city of Kasimov.
