Fairy house in the forest. Modern design of a small private house in the forest. Cozy dream house in a winter forest in the city

Ecuadorian little house in the woods with a moss roof

This little house in the forest was built like 100 years ago. One of the problems with Art Nouveau architecture is that in some countries it has supplanted traditional building experiences that have been adapted to the local climate and materials. Most of the individual styles of modern architecture depend on industrial materials that have nothing to do with natural materials used for centuries in a particular region.

And although work on adapting industrial materials to the climate in different countries is gradually being carried out, not all materials are suitable for global construction. Therefore, the Ecuadorian architects Luis Velasco Roldan and Ángel Hevia Antuña built a small house in the forest according to the old traditions and building techniques from natural materials. Solar heat is used to heat the room.

Spacious entrance to the forest house

The main goal of the project is research. The architects wanted to find out the energy efficiency of such a building in the local solar climate.

Bright zoning room

Luis and Ángel worry that the knowledge accumulated by their ancestors has been lost in recent decades, and technology has been forgotten. Such a situation is dangerous by replacing residential structures adapted to the climate with houses made of concrete, steel sheets or cement fiber. These modern housing models are filling not only new urban areas, but also crowding out long-standing buildings.

The situation is also complicated by the dependence on the supply of materials from remote industrial areas and high energy consumption to maintain the microclimate inside. Many buildings in Latin America are located in a temperate climate and during periods it gets cool due to uncalculated constructive solutions.

This state of affairs is being corrected by going back to basics and using energy efficient technologies.

Forest house project plan

The architects' project is a contrast to new trends. Only local natural materials were used for the house in the forest. The building is rather small, only 48.7 m2, a tree grows right in the center of the room, which the owners did not cut down.

Sliding glass doors can be closed or fully opened and feel like in a spacious gazebo.

There are many windows everywhere, they all open

The house consists of a living room, bedroom, kitchen, dining room and study. It is very light here, natural materials are used in the interior, creating a feeling of comfort and warmth. The front trim is made of Ecuadorian laurel, the finishing frame is eucalyptus wood. The air saturated with the eucalyptus scent is pleasant and healthy.

The tree in the dining room and the room itself

The bedroom is designed in two tiers, during the day you can read and sunbathe on the second level. All windows, if desired, open.

Relaxation on two levels

One of the most interesting building techniques is now out of sight. Pumice was chosen for isolation. Air pockets filled with this material smoothly neutralize temperature drops and the climate inside the house from 20 to 21 ° C, and all year round, even if there is only 12 ° C outside. Except, as in the wall panels, pumice was used over the drainage layer on the roof.

Every second city dweller wants to escape from their stone jungle into nature. Escape to the bosom of nature for a day, for two, on vacation, for the summer. Many would like to buy or build their own house in the forest and live there both in winter and in summer. And who doesn't dream of celebrating the New Year in the forest in winter in a cozy house, in the middle of this white winter fairy tale?

Fairytale house in the forest in winter in the village

But not many will agree to trade urban comforts and conveniences for a simple country life. Already accustomed to the fact that the house is always warm. It does not need to be heated. Others are doing this. There is always cold and hot water in the apartment. And you don't have to go far to meet your needs. The pot, that is, the toilet - here it is, next to it.

Another thing is in the countryside. To make the house warm, you need to try. How much work does it cost to chop a few woodpiles of firewood for kindling the stove. And for water you need to go with buckets and with a yoke on your shoulders to the nearest well. Well, take a walk with the empty ones wherever it goes. But with full ones, not many of today's townspeople will be able to return with full ones, and even not to spill half while walking back.

If you need hot water, you first need to heat it on the stove. And for this you need to light the stove. And to light the stove, you need to bring firewood. And in order to have something to bring, you must first prepare them. This is how the heat chain and the water cycle emerge in rural nature.

Separately, it must be said about a small house on the outskirts of a village estate. There is such a special house in every homestead. After all, there is no central sewage system in most villages. So imagine the situation. Business in winter, frost under forty degrees Celsius. And the inhabitant of the fairytale house in the woods was impatient ... Wouldn't freeze something in the backyard!

Cozy dream house in a winter forest in the city

Fortunately, times are changing. And already many villagers are installing water heaters in their homes. Some villages are supplied with gas and it is no longer necessary to prepare such quantities of firewood for the winter. There is a water supply system or individual wells and wells for water remain only in the paintings of artists, and in the memory of people.

Any resident of a forest village with hands can arrange life and comfort for himself at the level of urban housing. And there is nothing to say about a city dweller dreaming of a house in the woods on the edge of the village. And there are more opportunities than a villager.

Go to any hardware store. How many materials and devices have appeared on sale! There are long burning stoves on wood, coal and other solid fuels. Gas ovens, diesel-fueled, electric ovens and whatnot. Pumps, pipes, water heaters - whatever your heart desires.

If you yourself are not able to build and erect all this, then there are companies that will build a house with all the amenities on a turnkey basis. Come in and live! It is here that it is not the comfort and convenience of a village house that comes to the fore, but its surroundings, an aura, if I may say so.

What are the advantages of a city dweller who decides to exchange comfort for exorbitant country labor. Almost like in Vysotsky's song about climbers (this is about comfort and exorbitant work). What about the benefits? So here they are:

  1. Close to nature
  2. Fresh air
  3. Silence and unhurried flow of life
  4. Bath!

Villages were almost always based on a river or lake. And most of Russia is a forest, coniferous or deciduous, or even virgin or, as they say, black taiga. Therefore, in almost any village there is a forest and a river or a stream or a lake. As a last resort - a pond with crucian carp. Here and the morning fog by the river, like milk. And the murmur of a stream or the rustle of the waves of a river or lake.

And the noise of trembling foliage under the pressure of a mischievous breeze is not forgotten even after twenty years of living in the city. The one who was awakened at dawn by the knock of a branch on the window will forever remain a soul in the village. Winter sledging downhill, skiing in a snowy forest. How can this be exchanged for a birdhouse in the city?

The air that a person breathes is transparent. Maybe that's why we don't notice him. That's when it becomes impossible to breathe in the city, when the smog and the stench, then we remember the clean country air. And the air in the village, far from the city, is clean and transparent both in winter and in summer.

In a house in a forest, especially in a winter one, or on the outskirts of a forest, time stops. It seems to flow more slowly. No rush, no city bustle at all. Measured calm unhurried village life in the silence of the forest. Even the wind in the forest is less noisy and mischievous.

And of course, one of the main advantages of village life is the bathhouse. The bathhouse is not the same in the city! No city baths can compare with the baths in the village. Especially if she is on the shore of a reservoir. Your own bath is a source of pleasure. Enjoy the smell of wood in a hot bath, warmth, warming the body and a broom, birch or some other. The bathhouse is generally a separate world of pleasure.

Admiring the view from the window in any weather - that was his main desire, and the designers went to meet: one of the walls of the house, facing the lake, was made completely glass. This wall-window makes it possible to observe the lake all year round, regardless of the vagaries of the weather.

In the forest there should not be buildings that stand out too much from the environment - so the owner decided. Therefore, the design of a small private house was solved in an ecological manner: wood was used in the construction, and where, if not in a forest, to build wooden houses!

The facade of the house is sheathed with slats - they "dissolve" in the forest as well as possible, merging with the background. But it will not be possible to get lost in sight: the strict rhythm of the alternation of laths stands out from the arbitrary alternation of trunks in the forest, indicating the place of residence of a person.

A small modern house seems to be permeated with air and light, the slats protruding above the roof create a pattern that resembles the outline of a forest on a hill. The shade of the slats in the interior creates the effect of being in a forest thicket.

The glass wall moves apart - this is the entrance to the house. During the absence of the owners, the glass is covered with shutters made of wood, they are foldable and can be easily removed if not needed.

The project uses unique larch wood - this tree practically does not rot, a house made of it can stand for centuries.

All wooden parts for a small house in the forest were made using modern technologies - they were cut with a laser beam. Then some of the structures were assembled in workshops, and some were delivered directly to the construction site, where this unusual house was erected in a week.

To avoid dampness, the house is raised above the ground with bolts.

The design of a small private house is simple, and a bit like a yacht, it is a tribute to the owner's hobby. Inside, everything is modest and strict: a sofa and a fireplace in the living room, a bed in the “cabin” - only, unlike the yacht, not below, below deck, but above, under the roof itself.

You can get to the “bedroom” by a metal ladder.

In a small modern house there is nothing superfluous, and the whole decor is reduced to decorative pillows in the "sea" strip - the combination of blue and white brings refreshing notes to the ascetic interior.

The wooden walls are illuminated by a variety of lamps, the light of which can be directed in any direction of your choice.

At first glance, it seems that in a small house in the forest there is not even a kitchen. But this impression is mistaken, she is hiding in a wooden cube that occupies part of the living room.

On top of this cube is a bedroom-cabin, and in it itself is a kitchen, or a galley in a nautical way. Its decoration is also minimalist: the walls are covered with cement, the furniture is gray to match it. The steel sheen of the facades prevents this brutal interior from looking gloomy and dull.

The design of a small private house did not provide for any frills, so there is no bath, instead there is a shower, the bathroom is small in size and fits perfectly in one “cube” with the kitchen.

Due to this, with a small total area, there is enough space for a spacious living room. All the things the owner needs are hidden in a large storage system that takes up almost an entire wall.

There is a large niche next to the fireplace, into which it is convenient to store firewood. The fireplace in this small modern house is not a luxury, but a necessity, and it is with it that the entire room is heated. With a small area and well-thought-out design, such a heat source is enough to heat 43 square meters.

The small house has a lot of advantages: it is warm in winter and cool in summer, sitting on a sofa, you can admire the entire surface of the lake, and in order to relax or receive guests, there is everything you need.

To all the pluses, it is worth adding the environmental friendliness of the finish: the wood on the walls is covered with oil, the floor is cement in the color of the lake shore, and it all looks stylish and very appropriate in a house near the water.

The forest is always mysterious and slightly alluring with its depth. A house in the forest is a place that seems to a person to be very cozy, safe and hidden. That is probably why photographers love so much to create a whole story out of such a landscape, slightly similar to a fairy tale. In this article, we have collected 16 houses in the forest for you, which look completely different and have their own mood. Which one is right for you?

An abandoned old cottage from the 18th century with a large stone fireplace ... such a place evokes sad but warm nostalgic thoughts of abandoned villages. A small mountain spring flowing near the house, perhaps in the old days, was suitable for supplying water to those who lived in it. Looking at old houses, you always ask yourself - what did those people find in this place? Why did they stay here and equip it? Was it their destiny or just a necessity?

The next house is still used today as a small hut for the forester. It is especially interesting because it is located in a mountainous area with a large elevation difference. In addition, trees with stunning crowns grow along the slope. Than to a heavenly place in order to have a good rest in nature and read your favorite classics?

This English house has long been abandoned, and the heavenly yellow coloring of all the vegetation on it is, in part, the work of the designer. But not only him - the beauty of this place is understandable even without the use of paints. Even in black and white, this landscape would look amazing.

Our tour of the houses has a certain retro character, since most of them are abandoned and not used for a long time. But this does not mean at all that there is no magical beauty left in these places.

Other houses fit into the surrounding landscape so much that they do not look like a place for a turbulent life. Rather, people with an old, natural way of life live here. Or they stick to it when they use the house for summer living.

A special mood in the forest is rain, thunderstorm or cloudy night. Then the whole world ceases to be what it is. For this we value nature, constantly leaving for our dacha. It changes our view of the world to a more positive and poetic one. After all, nature is a real miracle that distracts us from worries and gives us strength.

The charming old mill near the bridge is in a very picturesque location. Many people still live in the local village, and they raise the geese that swim here. All over Europe there are many of these old water mills, now no longer needed by anyone.

But this article is not at all about the fact that some things are running out of time. And that every house, even an old one, has its own charm. And with the proper desire, you can breathe new life into absolutely any place.

For example, this house in the photo above with a traditional roof made of natural material is also very old, but it is looked after and looks truly magical. Here you can probably shoot scenes for films or print calendars with this photo.

The other house is new, but in the style of the classic buildings in the area. An excellent evidence that there are people who honor and want to revive the best traditions of their native land.

Tropical jungle bungalows are also part of our forest cottage category. The presence of the pool only decorates them, and the abundant vegetation makes the exterior more interesting.

Many people also try to build modern cottages in the forest in order to be able to have a good rest after work in the bosom of nature.

Small huts rented out for the New Year holidays are beautiful because they were built according to old traditions and have a retro aesthetic.

Some of the houses in the forest climb higher up the trees themselves, creating spectacular structures.

Others are located on the side of wooded mountains and have stunning views of the countryside.

But most importantly, each of them is only a consequence of the fact that a person has chosen a beautiful natural place to live. And what stands on it - a hut, a summer residence, a cottage or a mansion - is much less important. Basically, we gravitate towards a natural lifestyle, while trying to stay in our comfort zone. The main thing is not to forget that we are at the dacha precisely because of nature and its beauty, and our business is, first of all, to honor and respect it.
