Artifact quest in wwii. Artifacts in WoW: Legion. General information. Hidden artifact effects

In this guide we will tell you all about Legion artifacts in World of Warcraft... We will give detailed information about the talents and relics of artifacts, their appearance, power and knowledge of the artifact in WOW.

Artifacts are unique weapons for each specialization added to the Legion. The power of such weapons grows as the player progresses through the plot of the supplement.

Note: made some changes to the artifact system. Main: new talents have appeared and new artifact skins have become available. For minor changes, read the 7.2 patch guide (section on artifacts).

What you need to know about artifacts in WoW

Basic information:

  • There is an artifact for each specialization of each class - thus, there are a total of 36 combat artifacts in the Legion. It is a weapon of exceptional power.
  • The 37th artifact associated with fishing is a fishing rod for anglers.
  • To obtain the artifact, you must complete the quest chain for your specialization. During the quests, you will learn a lot of information about the famous representatives of your class.
  • The artifact is your character's main weapon in the Legion. No weapon is stronger.
  • Artifact Traits / Talents - Improve your class's abilities.
  • Relics are items that can be inserted into an artifact in order to enhance certain talents and increase the overall level of the item (and, accordingly, its characteristics).
  • The power of the artifact grows as the Power of the artifact is gained. This unlocks new available talents and relics.
  • Artifact Knowledge is a special system that allows players to obtain artifacts for the second and third specializations faster.
  • All artifacts for your class can be obtained through the campaign in the class hall.
  • Artifacts come in different styles and colors that can be unlocked by performing certain actions. An artifact can be transmogged into another weapon (see the Legion Transmog Guide), but you cannot give a weapon the appearance of an artifact.

Artifact Power in WOW Legion

Artifact talents can be pumped using the Power of the artifact. At the same time, the Power of an artifact is not a currency (you cannot accumulate and spend), but rather resembles experience: by receiving the Power of an artifact, you unlock new talents in the talent tree of your weapon.

The current amount of available Artifact Power is displayed above the bar of experience. By hovering over it, you will see how many units of the Artifact's Power you lack until the next talent is unlocked.

The power of an artifact in the Legion can be obtained through the use of consumables, such as a Glass of Dalaran Wine or A Brief History of Ages.

Items that give the Power of an artifact can be obtained in different ways:

  • Search for treasures;
  • Missions in the class hall;
  • PvP victories on battlefields and arenas;
  • Completing major quests or world quests;
  • Chests for completing a series of local quests (for 4 tasks for one faction);
  • Additional objectives and bonus tasks in the open world;
  • Drop from rarniks, bosses in dungeons and Legion raids, world bosses;
  • Completing random dungeons on normal and heroic difficulty;

Good video about the Power of the artifact:

When you get one of these items, click on it to add Strength to the artifact currently equipped on the character.

  • If you want to add the Power of an artifact to a weapon in your inventory (an artifact for your other specialization), you first need to equip this artifact, and only then use a consumable item.
  • The strength of artifacts is calculated separately for each weapon. That is, if you added 10,000 units of artifact power to the current artifact, this will not affect the weapons for your other specializations in any way.

The amount of Artifact Power gained from such consumables, can be increased with the Knowledge of the artifact... More details about this are written in the corresponding section of our guide.

Each time you spend Strength on pumping an artifact's talents, the cost of unlocking subsequent talents increases significantly. To pump the first talent, you need 100 units of Strength, and then this number can go up to 5,000,000.

Artifact talents (features)

Features (or talents) of an artifact - these are special skills that open as the artifact is pumped... To learn each talent, you need Artifact power, and as you pump more talents on one weapon, subsequent talents require more and more Artifact Power.

Each artifact weapon has one free talent (the very first one), which does not require resources to level up and gives you a powerful class ability. Usually the ability from the first talent is active and appears on your ability bar, but for some classes and specializations it can be passive.

Relic Effect # 1: Item Level Up

Each relic has a specific item level - in beta it ranged from 670 to 895.

  • The higher the level of the relic, the more levels of the item it will add to the artifact.
    • For example, Soul Fibrill (lvl 805, craft) will add +31 ilvl to the weapon, and the Shimmering Spark of Time (lvl 850, drop in raids) will add +43 ilvl.
    • Relics dropped in dungeons, raids and from world bosses, when dropped, have a chance to get an improvement by +5 item levels. Taking into account all difficulty options, the maximum item level for such relics is 895.
  • The starting level of all artifacts is 750, and each relic inserted into the socket increases this level. The maximum artifact level that can be overclocked in T19 content is 918(with three improved level 895 relics).

Relics can be inserted into your artifact to increase the item level. Each relic also allows you to increase the rank of one artifact trait.

The table below shows the levels of relics, depending on the source of receipt:

A source Level Level boost Remarks
Common Quests and World Quests 670-815 + 2-33 ilvls Quest rewards are scaled to the player's level when they turn in the quest.
World quest rewards are level 805+ (can be propelled by improved ones)
Normals 700-805+* + 2-31 ilvls The item level depends on the character level at the time of killing the monster / boss.
Craft 805 +31 ilvls Crafting relics cannot be upgraded with Obliterium like other crafting items.
Heroics 825+* +36 ilvls
Raids (LFR) 835+* +39 ilvls
Mythic dungeons 840+* +40 ilvls
Raids (normals) 850+* +43 ilvls
World bosses 860+* +46 ilvls
Raids (heroic) 865+* +48 ilvls
Raids (Mythic) 880+* +52 ilvls
Maximum level 895 +56 ilvls

* Relics marked with an asterisk can be randomly upgraded when dropped. In the table from this guide, the minimum item level is indicated for them.

Relic Effect # 2: Bonus Ranks for Talents

Each relic enhances a specific talent of the artifact. On the web, a list of such talents can be viewed by selecting the "Improves" tab on the relics page. Thus, if you want to enhance a certain talent on an artifact, you need to look for special relics.

  • The relic immediately grants an additional rank and increases it. If it was 0/3, it becomes 1/4.
  • Relics do not allow you to cheat the talent system: if a relic turned a 0/1 talent into 1/2, you will still need to pump one rank to advance further up the talent tree.
  • One talent can be maxed out to rank 6/6. In this case, all three relics in the artifact slots must improve one talent.

How to get an artifact in WoW Legion

The first artifact in the Legion can be obtained already at level 100.

All classes receive their artifact through the introductory quest chain. In this case, you will need to use the unique abilities of your specialization.

For example, the Survival hunters will actively use traps, and the Assassination branch robbers will move around Stormwind in Stealth mode.

At the end of the missions, you gain access to the class hall, and you will also learn how to manage the artifact and the command table for missions in the hall.

Getting the second, third, fourth artifact

Reaching level 102, your character will be able to receive artifacts for all the specs of your class. For most, these are 3 artifacts, for Demon Hunters - 2, for Druids - 4.

To get the second artifact, you need to return to your class hall and take the task of choosing an artifact. The game will then prompt you to complete the quest chain for this weapon.

After obtaining the second artifact, the chain for obtaining the third (and then, for the druids - the fourth) will become available.

The video of the chains for obtaining the artifact can be viewed at Youtube.

Note:

  • The chain for each artifact was created taking into account the specialization: heals will need to heal the group, tanks - to take on monsters, dd - to complete standard quests for collecting items / killing monsters.
  • During the course of the chain, you can change the specialization. That is, you can make a chain for a healer in dd spec if you kill all opponents before they destroy your group. However, this will not be the easiest task.
  • If you have multiple artifacts, they will be automatically equipped when you change specialization. You cannot equip an artifact that does not match your current specialization.
  • Artifacts cannot be destroyed. Remember that each received artifact will always occupy one slot in the inventory.
  • Obtaining all artifacts available for your class is rewarded with the achievement Impressive arsenal .

Knowledge of the artifact

Knowledge of an artifact serves to increase the Power of artifacts that you get from items over time.

  • Knowledge of the artifact becomes available at 110 level. You will receive two tasks related to order fulfillment:
    • Hidden History - Recover 4 volumes of knowledge scattered across Azeroth.
    • Digging in books - to complete a work order.
  • Once both tasks are completed, you can continue to fulfill orders to obtain Artifact Data, which will increase your Artifact Knowledge level.
  • At the start of the Legion it takes 5 days to complete one order for Artifact Data... However, in the new addition, a special system will be implemented that will count the number of days from the launch of the Legion, and based on this number, reduce the lead time to 4 days, 3 days, and so on.
    • This system is designed for violas and those who start playing much later than the Legion's release date.
  • Each Legion Artifact Notes order will cost 500 Order Resources (see Where to get Order Class Resources in the Legion).

1.1. Main color: available by default.

1.2 Color # 2: Return one of the Pillars of Creation.

You can get one Pillar of Creation through the quest chain in each of the Legion's locations. Below is a list of the pillars, the final quests to obtain them and the corresponding locations:

Aegis Aggramar Securing the aegis Stormheim
Hammer of Kaz'goroth Hammer of Kaz'goroth Highmountain
Elune's Tear Elune's tears Valshara
Fight in Style: Improved Look .

2.1. Main Tint: Complete the Campaign in a Class Hall.

In fact, you need to get the achievement Forged for battle .

2.2. Color # 2: Unlock all talents of the artifact.

2.4. Color # 4: Complete the achievement This side up .

The only artifact coloration associated with Archeology. To obtain it, you need to collect 8 rare archaeological projects in the Legion.

Please note that rare finds in Legion are mined differently from other expansions. Every two weeks, the Archeology trainer (Dariness the Knowledgeable) will have a task, as a reward for which you will be offered a rare project. To complete the quests with the Archeology teacher, you need 110 level.

3. Valorous kind

Achievement for all 4 appearance options: Fight in Style: Valorous Look .

3.1. Main Paint: Complete the Balance of Power questline.

This is a fairly long chain that starts at level 110 in your class hall and has many stages. Among other things, you will need to bring 30 pieces of Blood of Sargeras (read How to Get Blood of Sargeras in WOW), complete several heroic dungeons and get items from the Emerald Nightmare raid.

3.2. Color # 2: Complete the achievement Freed monsters .

To earn the achievement, you need to kill 8 out of 10 Legion World Bosses in the Broken Isles.

3.3. Color # 3: Complete the Challenge Mode dungeon using the Level 15 Key.

To unlock this skin, you must complete a Mythic dungeon on difficulty 15. You can use both your own key and someone else's.

3.4 Color # 4: Complete the achievement Glory of the Legion Hero .

This meta-achievement requires 26 achievements in 10 Legion dungeons on Mythic difficulty. The achievement is shared per account, and so is the given appearance for the artifact.

4. Tempered look

5.2. Color # 2: Complete 100 dungeons using the hidden artifact appearance option.

5.3. Color # 3: Complete 200 Artifact Hidden World World Quests.

5.4. Color # 4: Kill 1000 enemy players using the Artifact's Hidden Form.

6. Sixth appearance (one of the Legion patches)

About the methods of obtaining the sixth version of the appearance for the Legion artifacts, nothing is yet known. Information will appear closer to one of the next patches (7.1, 7.2, etc.)

All options for the appearance of artifacts for each class and specialization can be found in the artifact calculator on the wwhead (in the "Appearance" tab).

Hidden effects of Legion artifacts

Artifacts in the Legion can have various hidden effects.

Here's what one of the developers of the WOW Legion said about it:

"When dealing with such powerful items as some of the artifacts that players will receive in the Legion, nobody knows what mysterious things might happen."

There are several speculations about what might be the hidden effects of artifacts in the Legion:

  • Hunter Swiftness, Feral Druid: The Claws of Asheshide are infused with the blood of beasts, granting 3% movement speed. The effect dissipates when the druid enters the battle.
  • Valkyra's Gaze, Fury Var: If a warrior kills an enemy within 8 seconds after the effect is triggered, he restores 50% of his health.
  • Ashbringer Retrie Paladin: There is a chance that Ashbringer will instantly kill a small demon or undead near the character.
  • Call eagles, hunter: when the hunter's health falls below 40%, an eagle comes to his aid for 10 seconds; works no more than once every three minutes.

Some artifacts can talk to their owners (for example, Alunet for the arcane magician or the Skull of Man'ari for the warlock), and will whisper something more than once during adventures around the world.

Video of the hidden effect Valkyra's Gaze (furry var):

Cosmetic effects

There are also some cosmetic effects associated with artifacts in the game:

  • Paladins can see demons in Dalaran with Revealing Light.
  • The air elementals in the Stormheim location are friendly to the Elemental shamans.
  • Some classes have special animations for the "Away" status (frost dk, druids and healing shamans).
  • Some NPCs react to a character with an artifact. For example, an elven blacksmith in Dalaran admires Felo'Melorn (an artifact of the fire mages).

Artifact Frequently Asked Questions

This section of the artifact guide contains the most frequently asked questions about the main weapons of the Legion.

1. How much space does the artifact take up in the bag?

Two-handed artifacts obviously take up one slot. But, interestingly, double artifacts (for example, Fist + Shield) also take up only one place in the bag. Agree, this is a nice space saving, especially if you collect artifacts for several specializations.

2. How does transmogrification work with artifacts?

You can transmog an artifact into another weapon, but you cannot transfer the appearance of an artifact to another weapon. For different parts of the artifact (for example, daggers for the right and left hand), you can use different transmogrification.

3. Can I change talents, relics or the appearance of an artifact anywhere?

Relics can be inserted into weapons anywhere. To change the appearance and activate new talents (ranks), you need to be near a special mountain in your class hall. To redistribute the talents on the artifact, you need to talk to the NPC, which is located next to the forge in the class hall.

4. What if I chose the wrong artifact, sold an old weapon and want to level up to level 102 in a different spec?

Your class hall quartermaster sells level 740 weapons, off-hands, and shields for 100 gold each. You can purchase them as a replacement for an artifact until you reach level 102.

5. Can an artifact be destroyed in WoW?

After completing the quest chain and obtaining an artifact, you can neither destroy it nor sell it to a merchant.

6. How can I see the leveling of artifact talents from other players?

In the standard interface of World of Warcraft, you cannot see the layout of the artifact's talents for other characters, but you can see the level of the item.

7. Will it be possible to use the received skins of artifacts for transmogrification after the Legion?

Most likely, yes - all options for the appearance of artifacts can be transmogrified after the Legion (in the next expansion). In this case, it is implied that skins can be unlocked during the Legion, but after the expansion they will not be obtained. This also applies to the new forms of the druid (the appearance of the Cat and the Bear changes from an artifact).

8. Can you use artifacts in PvP?

Artifacts and their effects can be used in all PvP situations: arenas, battlegrounds, open world.

9. Will the Artifact Knowledge be shared across the account?

No, the Knowledge of the artifact will not be linked to the account. This system allows you to get artifacts faster for alternate specializations, but not for alternate characters.

10. How long will it take to download the first artifact to the maximum?

It will take several months to pump all 34 ranks of the artifact talents in the Legion. The developers did not give a more accurate figure.

We can't wait to hear your feedback on the introduction of weapons such as artifacts to the Legion - we welcome your feedback in the comments!

If you liked the guide to artifacts - share the link to it on social networks.

Artifacts are one of the Legion's most important innovations. They will be the most powerful items in the game, and other weapons will simply not be competitive. However, getting all the appropriate Artifacts for your class is not so easy. In this article, we'll show you how to do this.

So let's start with your first Artifact. The first time you will be given the option to select an Artifact at the start of the Legion's main questline. In it, you will get access to the class hall, without which you will not be able to receive tasks in the future. Therefore, it is very difficult not to find the first Artifact, and you should not have any difficulties in obtaining it.

To get the second Artifact (both the third and the fourth), you need to get level 102. The NPS that gives the quest for obtaining the Artifact will be in your Stronghold and highlighted with an orange exclamation mark. It can be noted that the quest chain for the second Artifact is shorter than for the first.

The tasks for each Artifact differ significantly. To obtain Artifacts of healers, you will need to heal a group of allies, for the Artifact of tanks you need to tank something ... By the way, you can do the task for the Artifact of the Priest of Light, being in the Darkness specialization, for example. Although these scripts are tailored for a specific specialization.

But getting all the Artifacts is just the beginning.

The power of Artifacts.

The main feature of an Artifact is the talents built into it. Some talents simply increase ability damage or critical strike chance, while others add new effects to abilities. Some talents have levels (For example, the talent of the Warlock of Affliction "Unstable Affliction" - increases the chance of critical of Unstable Affliction by 2%, 4%, 6% depending on the level of pumping).

To study these talents, a new currency is required - the Power of Artifacts (CA). It can be obtained for performing various actions: passing a dungeon, killing rare opponents, completing certain tasks, etc. Each subsequent study or improvement of talents requires more CA.

It is important to know that the CA binds to the Artifact that is currently equipped on you! Fortunately, CA almost always drops out in the form of an item that can be used at any time.

Relics

Initially, you get an item level 750 Artifact. This is more than hardened loot from the Mythic Archimonde at this point, but of course it won't be enough in the Legion. To increase the level of an Artifact, you will use Relics - items that give additional characteristics to your Artifact and, accordingly, increase its power!

Each relic has its own element (light, darkness, fire, filth, etc.). And in your Artifact there are three cells that also have an element. It is easy to guess that only a Relic of Light can be inserted into a cell with light.

You can get Relics in different ways - getting from dungeon bosses, raids, completing tasks, etc.

The Relics themselves also have an item level. The best ones will drop from raid bosses.

Knowledge Artifacts

At the moment, the progress of the Artifacts is very slow. CA is very small and it is tied to one Artifact, so pumping several characters at once, and just playing in parallel for two specializations will be very ineffective. To make life a little easier for those who like to play for everyone at once, there is a system of Artifact Knowledge. This function increases the amount of CA received. To get it, you need to pump your character to level 110. And get CA on it to increase the multiplier.

But still, the best option would be to decide on the specialization right away.

Artifact features (talents)

A full list of features is available (in English only for now).

Traits / talents are passive skills that enhance the abilities of a particular specialization. When you first get your artifact, the first trait is active (and quite powerful - like Phoenix's Flame for Mages).

  • To select new features, simply click on your artifact.
  • Most of the traits have 3 upgrade ranks. You need to spend Artifact Power to increase the rank of features - and from this they will become more powerful.
  • Some talents have a golden dragon frame around them. These talents have a more visible impact on the game and usually have separate visuals.
  • The number of improvement ranks also increases the character's Stamina.

Example talents for Ashbringer:

Artifact relics

A complete list of relics of the artifact can be viewed on wowhead.

Relics can be inserted into your artifact to increase the item level. Each relic also allows you to increase the rank of one artifact trait.

  • The maximum rank for traits is 6/6.
  • There are different types of relics, and only certain types can be inserted into each artifact. For example, priests of darkness can insert 2 relics of darkness and 1 relic of blood, and frost mages can insert 2 relics of ice and 1 relic of Arcane magic.
  • A relic enhances a specific trait of an artifact. Wherein not all specializations of the same class can receive a bonus from a certain relic.
  • Relics cannot be removed from the artifact: when replaced, the old relic is destroyed. Unused relics can be sold to a merchant or dispersed.
  • Relics come in a variety of qualities - Uncommon, Rare, and Epic.
  • You can get relics as a reward for tasks, from bosses in dungeons and raids, as well as using professions. The quality of the relic as a reward for the quest can randomly improve from Uncommon to Rare / Rare to Epic.

Artifact power

Artifact talents can be pumped using the Power of the artifact.

The power of an artifact in the Legion can be obtained in different ways:

  • Completing large quests;
  • Killing bosses in dungeons and raids;
  • Search for treasures;
  • Passage of random heroics.

To use an item that gives the Power of an artifact, right-click on this item, and then on the desired weapon.

As you develop an artifact, the cost of subsequent levels of each trait increases, and quite significantly. To pump the first talent, you need 100 units of Strength, and then this number can reach 6000-8000.

Subtlety Rogue Artifact:

Knowledge of the artifact

Knowledge of the artifact is necessary to increase the amount of Artifact Power that you get from items.

  • Level 110 players can return special books found around the world to the NPC Explorer in their class hall.
  • To research the volume, you need to spend Order Resources. When the research is completed, you will receive more Artifact Knowledge points. Here is a list of volumes related to increasing the Artifact's Power level.
  • This increase applies to most items that grant Artifact Power, but not all.
  • Knowledge of an artifact increases the speed of obtaining the Power of an artifact on a character and is applied to all artifacts. This will be useful if you are pumping artifacts for different specializations.
  • Artifact Knowledge will be gained faster as the expansion progresses.

Appearance of artifacts

Each artifact has 6 appearance styles, and each style has 4 color options - that is only 24 appearance options.

Each color option opens in a different way. For instance:

  • Getting 2, 5, 9, 13 prestige levels;
  • Achievement Loremaster of the Legion;
  • Achievement Rise of the Traitor (kill Gul'Dan);
  • Achievement to kill 8 world bosses;
  • Achieving Hidden Potential (something secret).

An artifact can be transmogrified into anything, but the appearance of an artifact cannot be given to another weapon.

All options for the appearance of artifacts can be viewed in the artifact calculator on the webhead (in the "Appearance" tab).

There are also some cosmetic effects associated with artifacts in the game:

  • Paladins can see demons in Dalaran with the Expose Light.

  • Some classes have special animations for the "Away" status (frost dk, druids and healing shamans).
  • Some NPCs react to a character with an artifact. For example, an elven blacksmith in Dalaran admires Felo'Melorn (an artifact of the fire mages).

We will tell you about the artifacts of the Legion in this guide. All about the talents and relics of artifacts, their appearance, power and lore of an artifact in World of Warcraft. Artifacts are unique weapons for each specialization added to the Legion... The power of such weapons grows as the player progresses through the plot of the supplement.

The latest patch for World of Warcraft: Legion has added a lot of new content and features. One of the most notable changes is the ability to unlock new artifact stats and increase the lore level from 25 to 50. There are also new quests at Broken Shore and a new faction. How not to miss what you really need? Let's try to figure it out in the new guide.

Before, you need to have weapons with level 35 and above, and artifacts of knowledge (Artifact Knowledge) not lower than 25. After that, after completing several quests, you can reach your goal.

Unblock Broken Shore

First you need to get to Broken Shore. You can start this quest from Khadgar in Dalaran. You can also open the dungeon journal and select a quest if you don't see it when you log in. Launch it and it will take you to Broken Shore.

After that you can unlock another quest "Seeking Lost Knowledge", in which you have to find the lost knowledge. They are located near Aalgen Point. To do this, you will need to drive a little north, and then climb the slope to the mountain. To open them, you need to either click on the ghostly head, or go through the quest in each place.

Unlocking World of Warcraft: Legion Lore Artifacts

After you get all three locations, return to Khadgar at Deliverance Point. You will find yourself in the order hall of your class and can start a new quest that rewards with the 26th artifact of lore and the opportunity to receive even more quests to unlock all 50.

Unlocking new characteristics of artifacts

Having received the artifact of knowledge, you will notice that the game no longer gives you any tasks. B must return to Khadgar at Deliverance Point again. There you can start a new mission "The Broken Shore: Investigating the Legion". You need to find an item at Broken Shore. To do this, simply kill all enemies until you see him.

Now it will be possible to finally start looking for weapons. The next quest requires you to return to Dalaran to speak with the Council of the Six. After short dialogues, you will have to choose individual quests for each of your specialties. They will only be available for weapons with level 35 or higher, and each of them must be completed separately.

After you receive the weapon, you will need to return to Dalaran to activate it. To do this, you will need to stand in a large circle, raise your weapon and wait for the Extra Action button to appear. The quest will be over, your weapons and the power of the artifacts will be restored again.

World of Warcraft: Legion is the sixth expansion for the famous World of Warcraft. The plot begins with the end of the previous one - after escaping from Draenor, the orc shaman Gul'dan took refuge on Broken Isles, and opened a portal hidden in the Tomb of Sargeras, freeing the horde of demons. The players' task will be to stop the shaman before the forces of evil can triumph. The game has many new dungeons and quests, artifacts for leveling up and a whole army of followers.

Update Patch 7.3. In patch 7.3, the artifact system has been revamped once again. ...

Introduction

Seven years ago, at Blizzcon 2009, the Cataclysm expansion was announced. Among all those innovations that awaited players, was announced the "Way of the Titans", a new system of character development at the highest level. The little that was shown spoke of the trees (or rather circles) of talent that were revealed as various tasks, including those related to archeology, were completed. Those who play longer remember how it ended. The Path of the Titans was cut from the release of the third expansion pack for the game.

Apparently, the developers decided to return to the topic of the additional branch of character development, of course, with some adjustments. Indeed, we have a “closed” talent tree that needs to be developed. These talents guarantee some special abilities that can be enhanced. In general, in some respect, the concept was continued.

The main thing about artifacts:

  • each spec gets its own artifact weapon (except for a fishing artifact, which will be available to everyone);
  • you can get an artifact by completing a quest that will reveal the unique features of your class and tell about important characters in the world;
  • an artifact is your main weapon in Legion, you will not have another (or rather, you will, but only to complete the starting scenario on the Broken Isles and quests to obtain the first artifact);
  • artifact traits increase various class abilities, while relics improve certain traits and increase weapon ilvl;
  • the power of artifacts is increased through the Power of the artifact (Artifact Power, AP), the discovery of traits and Relics that can be installed in the sockets available on the weapon;
  • Artifact Knowledge (AK) is a system that helps players progress faster with off-spec artifacts. You can get all the artifacts for your class in the Bulwark;
  • artifacts have different appearance and color, which can be discovered through different activities. You will have the opportunity to transmog an artifact, but other weapons cannot take the shape and colors of the artifact;
  • pumping an artifact is strongly tied to the Class Hall, so to increase the Knowledge of an artifact, you need to place orders in the Hall for the corresponding resource.

How do I get an artifact?

Everything is very simple. After the scenario, which takes place on the Broken Isles, you will immediately be given a quest in Dalaran. I passed her as a hunter. After choosing an artifact, another quest was received for execution in the scenario and at the first stage we had to save Alleria Windrunner. At the end of the script, a "harvesting" of a bow without traits was given. At the last stage, I was sent to the class stronghold, where the artifact acquired traits. Actually nothing special, just follow the directions.

Bleeding and customization of artifacts

Artifact power

Traits become available as you receive the Artifact Power (hereinafter AR). This is not a currency that you collect and spend, it looks more like an exp. As you get it, you use it to unlock a new artifact trait. Artifact power can be obtained through various usable items (for example, Dalaran Wine Glass, Brief History of the Aeons, Brief History of the Ages).

The interface has a bar (above the experience bar) showing how close you are to unlocking the next trait.

Items that allow you to get the Power of an artifact are obtained in the following ways:

  • main quests / world quests;
  • world quest chests;
  • hidden treasures;
  • random dungeons of normal and heroic difficulty;
  • drop from bosses in dungeons, raids, world bosses, rarniks;
  • Class Hall missions;
  • victory on the battlefield;
  • arena victories;

Having received such an item, click on it to add the Power of the artifact to the weapon that you are currently wearing. If you want to add power to another artifact weapon, then you must first put it on and only then use the item. The power of an artifact is a parameter that is tied to a specific weapon and does not apply to artifacts for other specs. Knowledge of an artifact is an attribute that you can pump and, as a result, increase the rate of obtaining the power of artifacts from most sources.

Artifact traits

Artifact traits are special abilities that are unlocked over time on an artifact weapon. Each trait requires a certain amount of Artifact Power. Each subsequent trait will require more and more Artifact Power. Each weapon has an Artifact Ability that can be unlocked and that guarantees an additional spell, usually with a powerful effect. Some of them are passive, but for most specs these will be active spells that can be used. These spells are displayed on the information summary above each artifact.

Traits are, for the most part, passive abilities that improve your class's abilities. Let's say they increase the damage from ability X by a certain amount. In order to see what traits are inherent in your artifact, press the Shift-clie combination with the right mouse button on your artifact weapon. Remember that choosing new traits for your weapon can only be done at the Artifact Forge in Class Hall.

Traits have levels from 1 to 3. To get a new level, you need to invest in the trait the Power of an artifact. Relics add "bonus" levels to a specific artifact trait. This trait can be boosted by a maximum of 6 levels. Additional levels of artifacts that add relics do not require Artifact Power.

You must maximize the trait (up to 3rd level) in order to continue unlocking traits further. In total, 34 points are available in order to invest in the Trait Tree of an artifact and the path along which you will open traits depends only on your choice. After all, when you get all 34 points, you are maximizing all the traits on your artifact weapon. Several traits have a golden dragon frame. These traits greatly enhance your class abilities (more than a regular trait).

After you get all 34 points for your weapon, you will have access to a "bonus" trait with 20 levels. This Bonus Trait increases damage. More about this trait is described in the subsection below.

Resetting and reallocating trait points

You can respawn / redistribute your traits (by dropping and reassigning points) for a certain price. Respec costs the same artifact Power as the next point to invest in your trait tree. For example, you invested 18 points in your artifact tree and want to reset and reassign them. To do this, you must give as much Artifact Power as is required to buy the 19th point for the trait tree - 24000 Artifact Power. This procedure will restore you 18 points, which you can spend on traits. It should be remembered that you will not restore the Forces of the artifact, only points.

Since the cost of reproducing your artifact weapon is high, it won't be as beneficial. And in the end, you will unlock all the traits for your artifact. The sequence in how you do it doesn't really matter.

Trait perks

The total number of trait levels you acquire increases the amount of stamina +/- damage dealt (up to the 34th point of your artifact trait tree). Healing and tank specs receive 0.75% + 1% damage dealt for each open trait (25.5% stamina and 34% damage dealt on max artifact weapons). Clerics of Discipline as hybrid damage / healers receive 0.75% stamina and 0.5% damage dealt per trait, resulting in 25.5% increased stamina and 17% damage on fully leveled artifact weapons. Damagers receive 0.75% stamina per trait, which increases stamina by 25.5% on a fully leveled artifact.

Below is a table showing the cost of trait points. The increase in the amount of Power of an artifact occurs exponentially.

Bonus trait

The bonus trait becomes available if you have earned all 34 points for the main artifact weapon. As mentioned above, the Bonus has 20 levels and investments in it increase damage, healing and armor (depending on the spec). The system is broadly similar to the Paragons in Diablo III.

The 14th trait requires a significant amount of AP (6480) - more than the previous thirteen (6500). Keep this in mind if you plan on playing the second spec regularly. You can choose to pump the second artifact before continuing to pump the main one. The number of ARs needed to pump artifacts:

The first 13 points in the main tree:

  • for one artifact - 6,500 AR
  • for two - 13,000 AR
  • for three - 19,500 AR
  • for four - 26,000 AR

All 34 points

  • for one artifact - 5,216,130 AR
  • for two - 10,432,260 AR
  • for three - 15,648,390 AR
  • for four - 20,864,520 AR

All levels 1-20 for bonus artifacts: 60,040,200
Fully Maxed Weapon: 65,256,330

Knowledge of an artifact increases the amount of Artifact Power that you can receive per day, which will significantly reduce the pumping time. At the maximum level of Knowledge of the artifact, the amount of Power of the artifact increases by 6850%. More details - in the "Knowledge of the artifact" section.

Artifact relics

A relic is an item whose mechanics are similar to how old metasteones worked. When a relic is inserted into an artifact socket, it has two functions:

  • increases the ilvl of the artifact (increases the main and secondary stats);
  • adds a bonus to a specific artifact trait.

The artifact has three relic slots, two of which are available immediately after you receive the weapon. The third slot is initially closed and will open after you complete the Class Hall quest line.

There are several types of relics and each artifact has a unique combination of slots that are associated with a specific theme. For example, a shadowy weapon has two Shadow and one Blood relic slots, while a frostmage weapon has two Ice slots and one Arcane. There are ten types of relics in total:

  • Arcane magic;
  • Blood;
  • Filth;
  • Fire;
  • Iron;
  • Light;
  • A life;
  • Shadow;
  • Storm.

Not all specs can benefit from a specific relic - it all depends on what slots you have on your weapon. By quality, relics are divided in the same way as items - unusual, rare and epic. They are rewarded for completing quests, dropped from mobs in the open world and from bosses in all types of dungeons, from 5ppl to raid and world. In addition, relics can be crafted. Most often, for quests they give relics of an unusual and rare quality, which have a chance to accidentally upgrade to something of a higher quality, for example, instead of an unusual one, you will receive a rare relic. Some craft relics related to the worlddrop can be BoE and, accordingly, they can be sold at the auction, where a special tab has been made for them.

Requirements for relics may vary. For example, an item with a level of 670 will need a level above 100, and a relic with a level of 730 can only be used by a character of at least level 105. In general, the ilvl of relics ranges from 670 - 895.

Relics that drop as personal loot guarantee a set of characteristics that match your class and spec.

Relics cannot be removed and reinserted. Similar to gems, they are destroyed when removed or replaced.

Each relic has an ilvl. At the start of the add-on, it will fluctuate between 670-895. The higher the level of the relic, the more it will increase the level of the artifact. For example, a level 850 relic will upgrade your artifact by 43 levels, while a crafted level 805 relic by 31. Relics dropped from bosses can randomly receive +5 additional units to the possible level of the artifact. Any Titanforged item can raise its level by more than 15 points.

The starting level of the artifact is 750 and this level will increase if you insert relics into the sockets. The maximum possible level of artifact weapons is 918.

Knowledge of the artifact

Knowledge of an artifact raises the possible amount of Artifact Power (AR) that you can receive daily. An increase in the number of daily AR is possible only after reaching level 110. There you will receive two quests that will open the Artifact Knowledge Orders in the Class Hall. The quests will also tell about the history of the artifacts - as you progress, you will need books in which this will be revealed.

One Order will be available on the release, which will be completed within 5 days. However, later this period will be reduced and it will also depend on how far the character has progressed. The cost of completing an order is 500 units of Order resources. In other words, every five days there will be an opportunity to increase the Knowledge of the artifact by 1 level. There are 25 levels of these levels. Each level will increase the amount of available AR obtained from different sources. The first level is to boost AR by 25%, and at the 25th level - 24.000%. It should be noted that you should not stack items that increase AP. You will receive an increase for the level of Knowledge of the artifact that was in effect at the time of receiving the item. Knowledge of the artifact will work for all weapons to make it easier to level up for the off-guard. Moreover, this rule applies only to one character, and not the entire account.

The table, which indicates how much the AR increase will be at a certain level of Artifact Knowledge, is given below.

Artifact knowledge level Artifact Strength (AR) Bonus Artifact knowledge level Artifact Strength (AR) Bonus Artifact knowledge level Artifact Strength (AR) Bonus Artifact knowledge level Artifact Strength (AR) Bonus
